USSS Officially Announces Teams for Nordic Nations, World Juniors, U23s

Date:

Earlier Wednesday, U.S. Ski & Snowboard officially announced the American teams for the U18 Nordic Nations Cup and World Junior/U23 Championships. You can find the U18 team announcement here, and the World Junior/U23 Championships announcement here. Coaching and service staff for both trips was previously published here.

These teams were first reported by Nordic Insights on January 7 and January 16, respectively. You can find this website’s coverage of team naming here and here. The press releases do not name any additional athletes beyond what was originally reported on this site.

“This year, we are at the iconic venue of Falun — the 2027 FIS World Ski Championships venue,” USST Development Coach Greta Anderson said in a press release discussing the Scando Cup trip. “For our Under-18 team, it is a great preview of where they could be competing in the future and this all is made possible from the generous support from the National Nordic Foundation (NNF) and the extended cross country community!”

“We have had an amazing year so far at every level for cross country skiing in the U.S. and we have a higher density of athletes than ever before skiing at a higher level,” Anderson said in a separate press release on the World Juniors and U23 team. “We are bringing a strong and well-rounded team of 22 athletes to Planica. We’re excited about this trip and are very grateful for the support from the entire cross country community and the National Nordic Foundation (NNF).”

U18 athletes race in Falun from January 19–21. World Junior and U23 Championships occur in Planica from February 5–11. Congrats and good luck to all athletes.
