Drive for 25, the annual fundraiser for the National Nordic Foundation, starts next week. You may remember this undertaking from such hard-hitting editorials on this site as “NNF Is Good, and You Should Give Them Money.” Or you may — probably do, given the six-degrees-of-separation nature of high-level skiing in this country — know someone who has directly benefited from NNF’s largesse in funding American skiing.
And even if none of the above applies, I promise that you have cheered a result that was made possible in whole or in part by money from NNF. Skiing is expensive, and NNF is there for our athletes. I have a pretty high personal bar for jingoism, but NNF readily clears it. Go American skiing, and go NNF.
Anyway, here’s some words from Matt Whitcomb, then a press release from the National Nordic Foundation. Donate early, donate often.

National Nordic Foundation’s Annual Drive for 25 Fundraiser Starts Next Monday!
The National Nordic Foundation’s annual Drive for 25 fundraising drive starts next Monday, November 20th! This year’s fundraiser will run through Giving Tuesday, November 28th.
The Drive for 25 marks a crucial moment in our annual calendar to help power the United States’s grassroots approach to nordic skiing development, and is especially important in continuing the momentum of a successful period in American skiing history that has seen Olympic medals, World Cup titles, Junior World Championship medals, and most importantly, more skiers in more places competing than ever.
The Drive for 25 remains NNF’s largest annual fundraising drive. The simple premise behind it is that in a community as expansive and as dedicated as the one that supports nordic skiing in the United States, a simple donation of $25 is amplified to chart a bright future for all those involved in the sport. Last year’s Drive for 25 was the largest in our twenty-plus-year history, raising $310,000.
NNF is a grassroots movement by American skiers to help develop American skiing. We are at an exciting point in our history as an organization — not only expanding our Pillar Project programming, but also offering new programs, such as the Trail to Gold Coaching Program, that are building a more robust and inclusive approach to sport development. This year’s Drive for 25 will mark an opportunity for the American ski community to capitalize on its successes and set our sport up for success in the years to come.
