The memorial service for Matt Dudley, a longtime Anchorage skier, ski parent, and ski volunteer, will be held in the West High auditorium tomorrow night, Friday, July 25. Dudley grew up in Steamboat Springs. He had been diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia 12 years ago.

The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage, or NSAA, recently shared the following:
In Memory of Dr. Matt Dudley
āThe NSAA community is deeply saddened by the loss of Matt Dudley, a beloved member of our ski family, who passed away on July 17, 2025. Matt was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, friend, colleague, and adventurer, and his presence left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
āMatt gave generously of his time and spirit as a dedicated NSAA volunteer, most recently serving as part of the medical team at the 2025 U.S. National Championships. Whether working behind the scenes at events or lending a hand on the trails, Matt brought warmth, reliability, and quiet strength to every task.
āHis adventurous heart and unwavering kindness inspired many, and his contributions to our community will not be forgotten. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
āWe will celebrate Mattās life on Friday, July 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West High School Auditorium. All are welcome.ā
