Yesterday brought the classic sprint national championship for the 2023/2024 domestic race season at Spring Series in Duluth. APU was well represented on the day, with Novie McCabe taking the overall win for the women and JC Schoonmaker for the men. Erin Bianco (BSF) and Alayna Sonnesyn (SMS T2) rounded out the podium for the women, and Zanden McMullen of APU and Antoine Cyr of Canada for the men (Zak Ketterson (Team Birkie) was fourth overall to round out the domestic podium).
Race article for yesterday and today will be up soonish. For now, here are some fine shots of the action. All photos are by Jordan Woods with Wood Creek Productions; you can find his website here, and follow him on Instagram here. I appreciate his support of American skiing.

You’re reading this on Nordic Insights, one man’s labor of love dedicated to publicizing American nordic skiing. Last season’s GoFundMe is literally the only reason why I turned a profit in year one of Nordic Insights, and in turn the only reason why there is a year two of Nordic Insights for you to be reading now: I was okay with working for very little money to get this love letter to American cross-country skiing off the ground, but I didn’t want to lose money for the privilege of doing so. If you would like to support what remains a brutally shoestring operation, this season’s GoFundMe may be found here. Thank you for your consideration, and, especially, for reading.
