This weekend saw CCSA racing at the Ariens Invitational in Brillion, hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. This was the only college racing going on this weekend, as both the RMISA and EISA took the weekend off, gearing up for next weekend’s CU Boulder Invite and the Harvard Carnival, respectively.
CCSA skiers raced a 7.5km interval-start freestyle on Saturday, followed by a team classic event on Sunday.
It was largely the Michigan Tech show on Saturday, with the Huskies taking 5 out of 6 available podium spots between the men and the women.
Anabel Needham took the win on Saturday for Michigan Tech, followed by her teammate Synne Mæland-Herheim. Olivia Laven, also racing for Tech, rounded out the podium for a team lockout of the women’s 7.5k podium.
Luke Fricker of Northern Michigan University (NMU) won on Saturday, breaking up the MTU monopoly, followed by Henry Snider, of Michigan Tech, in second, and Skylar Patten in third, also of Michigan Tech.

Sunday’s team classic relay event was won by Luke Fricker, racing with his teammate Kolibri Drobish, taking the win for NMU. Following close behind them were Jasper Johnson and Marie Wengen, representing Michigan Tech. Rounding out the relay podium, Jonathan Clarke and Henriette Nilssen took third place for Northern Michigan. St. Scholastica and UW–Green Bay also entered teams.
